Local Spotlight: Ice Cream and Shaved Ice Vendors (2026 edition)

Hi Everyone! This is Nisha, your favorite and most trusted Bay Area Kids party planner. Now that school's out and summer is here, its time to party and the best parties of the season are outdoors. From backyard celebrations to beachside hangouts to park birthdays, planning the perfect event can get overwhelming. But, while aesthetics can seriously elevate an event, sometimes we have got to go to the basics.
Whenever I host an outdoor extravaganza, there is only one thing that always hits, and it's Ice Cream. Yes, its really as simple as that. Over the years, I've learned that no matter your age - whether you are a tumbling toddler or a grumpy gramp, ice cream is always a crowd favorite.
Now, Bay Area ice cream vendors are next level. They don't play when it comes to ice cream. In fact, when I started doing a deep dive into my local vendors, each one brought something unique to the table, from fantastical flavors to some extra pizzaz to their booth (I'm talking about toppings and lots of them).
Disclaimer, I have not worked with EVERY vendor listed below, but I made sure to find vendors that are actively working the Bay Area circuit and who are well reviewed by my peers. Now that you've heard my spiel, lets get down to the good stuff.
Zazzy Machines - This bay area caterer brings Gourmet dessert to next level, serving looks with custom signage on their food carts. They are not just soft serve ice cream, but serve gelato, shaved ice, coffee, churros, cotton candy and more.

Miss Neeta's Ice Cream Parlor - I've actually worked a couple events with Miss Neeta's and they have 16 unbeatable flavors (with hilariously sassy names). Depending on the size of the event, they provide 2 options - simple pre-packaged delivery or on site serving.
Miss Neeta's Ice Cream Parlor Catering SF Gelateria - This brick and mortar Gelato shop brings Italian ice straight to your event and provides free tastings at their shop. They have 3 services: The Dolce Vita Cart (min. 160 servings), the Go Go Gelato Cart (min. 50 servings) and the Pre-packaged Gelato Delivery (min 30 servings). For the kiddos, they also have an add-on toppings station.

Mr Nova's Ice Cream Cart - This family-owned ice cream cart provides the Classic vanilla or chocolate Ice cream cart experience with the most popular toppings. Kids love this no-nonsense, good ole fashioned sweet treat, and parents love that they are budget friendly. They also have a ton of flavors, cone options and decor.

Raff's Party Machine Rentals - Raff's provides the Soft Serve ice cream machines AND Margarita machines (and shaved ice and chocolate fountains). Their services can simply be a rental with delivery, setup, prep, and pickup, or you have the option of adding an attendant, a gourmet toppings bar and custom flavors.

Party Pops and Co - This self service ice cream and popsicle cart serves looks and fresh vegan dessert options. There's tons of flavors, decoration options and topping add-ons.
Party Pops and Co Cart Sugar Mama's Desserts - This South Bay favorite provides Ice cream cart services, Sundae bars, Gourmet push pops, Mangonadas, Ice Cream Tacos and more. They do have a minimum of 60 servings for their ice cream catering packages.
Push Pops with toppings Smoove Ice Cream - Smoove provides more than just Ice Cream, they even make custom Ice Cream Cakes, Croffles topped with ice cream, and Boba floats. They setup their booth or use your venue's space to serve scrumptious delights.
Croffle topped with Ice Cream La Dolce Vita - With 3 location in the Bay Area, this Elegant Ice cream cart service offers Gelato, Coffee, Cake and Crepes Cart for a minimum of 80 servings.
La Dolce Vita Gelato Nirvanaah! - This South Bay classic is known to have 100% vegetarian Ice cream (no eggs), and their on-site service starts at $7/person + $100 for 2 hours.
